It is a lack of vanity that leads women in so many wrong directions in their quest for beauty. If you have a low opinion of your appearance, you are at the mercy of every shopgirl and every hairdresser who would give you bad, if ‘fashionable’, advice about how you should look. We’ve all seen women changing their look from season to season, trying to discover their beauty but always vulnerable to the world’s opinion of their appearance. They, and we, need vanity to discover what is our best look, our most genuine beauty.
